Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refunds and credits work for ShovelBids users. Please read this policy carefully before making any purchases or using our Service.
1. For Customers (Property Owners)
1.1 Free Service
Customers do not pay ShovelBids to use our platform. There are no membership fees, listing fees, or platform fees charged to Customers. Therefore, there is nothing to refund.
1.2 Payment for Services
Any payments made directly to Clients (Shovelers) for snow removal services are transactions between you and the Client. ShovelBids is not a party to these transactions and cannot issue refunds for services performed or not performed.
1.3 Disputes with Service Providers
If you have a dispute with a Client regarding the quality of service or payment, you must resolve this directly with the Client. While ShovelBids may provide limited assistance in facilitating communication, we are not responsible for resolving payment disputes.
2. For Clients (Service Providers/Shovelers)
2.1 Account Balance ("Bid Tokens")
It is free to create an account. Users that create Shoveler accounts with the goal of bidding on potential shoveling jobs to earn money can see whether or not potential shoveling opportunities are available within their desired radius prior to purchasing Bid Tokens. It is not until the Shoveler decides to place a bid on a potential shoveling opportunity that they will need to purchase Bid Tokens.
Clients maintain a prepaid account balance. The balance is increased when a client purchases Bid Tokens. A Bid Token is deducted from the account balance (the "Engagement Fee") each time an initial bid is made to a potential shoveling opportunity request. The minimum token purchase is $20.00 USD, which provides 80 Bid Tokens at the current rate of $0.25 per token.
- All Bid Token purchases are non-refundable
- Engagement fees are non-refundable once deducted
- Refunds are only provided in the exceptional cases outlined below
2.2 Engagement Fees
Engagement fees are non-refundable once a Customer accepts your bid. This applies regardless of whether:
- The Customer cancels the job after accepting your bid
- The Customer becomes unresponsive
- Weather conditions prevent service
- You are unable to complete the job for any reason
- There is a dispute about the service
2.3 Exceptions — When Refunds May Be Issued
Refunds will only be provided in the following exceptional cases:
- Technical Error on Our End: A technical error with the ShovelBids platform caused an incorrect or unintended charge
- Card Processing Malfunction: A malfunction with the card processing company (Stripe) caused an incorrect or duplicate charge
- Fraudulent Payments: An unauthorized or fraudulent payment was made on your account
Contact us at Hello@sbaiguys.com within 7 days of purchase should you experience a billing issue or if you notice fraudulent activity on your account.
2.4 Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will NOT be issued in the following situations:
- Standard Bid Token purchases (the $20.00 minimum and any amount above it)
- Engagement fees already deducted from your balance
- Account terminated for Terms of Service violations
- Fraudulent activity or abuse of the platform
- Chargebacks filed with your payment provider
- Promotional credits or bonuses
- Change of mind or decision not to use the platform
3. Promotional Credits and Bonuses
Any promotional credits, sign-up bonuses, or referral bonuses added to your account:
- Are non-refundable under any circumstances
- May have expiration dates
- Cannot be transferred to another account
- Cannot be converted to cash
4. Chargebacks
If you file a chargeback with your bank or credit card company for a legitimate charge:
- Your account will be immediately suspended
- You will be responsible for any chargeback fees incurred by ShovelBids
- Your account may be permanently terminated
- Any outstanding balance will be forfeited
Please contact us to resolve any billing disputes before initiating a chargeback.
5. Price Changes
If we change our engagement fee pricing:
- Existing account balances remain valid
- New fees apply to bids submitted after the change
- We will provide 30 days notice of any fee increases
